motion capture and animation experiments 4

Here are my personal explorations into the use of motion capture against animation.
Firstly I filmed my friend doing everyday activities. I then then motion captured his movements using the technique Rotoscoping then created an animated version of the rotoscope. With the two techniques shown side by side you can clearly see the differences.
In 'The Animators Survival Guide' it clearly states these differences are Walt Disney's animators Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston called 'The 12 basic principles of animation'.
These principles are: Anticipation, Arcs of motion, Ease in and out, Exaggeration, Follow through/Overlapping, Squash and stretch, Staging, Weight and balance and Personality. I have tried to add these animation traits into the motion captured animation with some success. I now plan to crate a final animation that will be a mix between motion capture and exaggerated animation.
